Getting help
notch.fm is built by one person, so there is no support desk and no ticket queue. Most of what people need is self-service and is already in the app; for the rest, there is a form at the bottom of this page that needs no account, and this page tells you what to gather first so the report is worth reading.
Things you can do right now, without asking anyone
- Get your data out
- Settings → Your data → “Export everything (JSON)” downloads a file with every rating, tag, revision, local like and playlist you own, plus the track metadata to make sense of them. It is never behind the paywall.
- Delete your account
- Settings → Danger zone → “Delete account”. It asks you to type a confirmation phrase, and then it is a hard delete. Export first - see the privacy page for exactly what survives and what does not.
- Sign out everywhere
- Settings → Security → “Sign out everywhere” invalidates every session token already issued, not just the one in this browser. Use it if you signed in on a device you no longer have.
- Change or cancel your plan
- Settings → Subscription. Downgrading keeps your ratings; nothing is deleted when you leave Premium.
- Revoke Spotify access
- That one lives with Spotify, not here: spotify.com/account/apps. Revoking it stops notch.fm reading your library immediately.
If something is broken
The details below are the difference between a bug that gets fixed and one that cannot be reproduced. Write them down while the problem is still on screen - most of them are gone the moment you navigate away.
- The page you were on - the full address from the browser bar, not just “the library page”.
- What you expected to happen, and what happened instead. Both halves; one on its own is a mood, not a report.
- The time, roughly, and your timezone. Server logs are searchable by time.
- Whether it happens every time or happened once.
- Your browser and whether you were on a phone, and if you were signed in.
An in-app report form is not live yet. Until it is, this page would rather say so than show you a text box that quietly drops what you type into it. When the form ships it will appear here and it will attach the diagnostics itself.
Two things worth knowing before you report them
- Writes to Spotify
- Saving a like or building a playlist can be refused by Spotify rather than by notch.fm. When that happens the app keeps your like or playlist locally and shows it everywhere it would otherwise appear, so nothing you did is lost - it is queued, not dropped.
- A library that looks empty
- The first sync reads your whole Spotify library and takes a while on a big one. Settings → Spotify connection shows the sync status and the last full sync time. If it says a reconnect is needed, that is Spotify having expired the connection, and reconnecting is the fix.
