    Search that acts, and notchbot

    • The search box now does the thing you asked for instead of just finding it - play it, queue it, save it as a playlist.
    • notchbot answers questions about your own library in the same box, in plain English.
    • When a request is too narrow to fill, the app says what it relaxed and why, rather than quietly returning something else.
    • A rebuilt marketing site, and the pages you are reading now.

    One search band, smart shuffle, and a shared track row

    • One search component for the whole app, in one place at the top of every page - Now Playing included.
    • Smart shuffle sits beside it: a queue built from your scores, band-shuffled so it is not the same twenty songs in the same order.
    • Save any queue as a playlist from a single modal, anywhere in the app.
    • Every track list in the app is now the same row component, so play, rate, like and tag behave identically wherever you meet them.
    • Mini-player transport controls, and a comments panel that reads like a comment sheet instead of a form.

    Profiles, XP and the social half

    • Public profiles, XP awarded for rating and tagging, 50 levels and 25 badges.
    • Follow people and see what they rated and superliked in a feed.
    • One superlike a day - scarcity is what makes pinning a song at 10 mean anything.
    • Achievements got their own page, and the level ring moved into the header.

    Comments pinned to a moment, and a fairer chart

    • Leave a comment at a position in a song; it stays at that position for everyone who plays it.
    • Charts rank by a shrunk average rather than a bare mean, so one 10/10 no longer outranks a catalogue.
    • A fifth, custom tag axis you name yourself, plus artwork throughout the library.
    • Now Playing stopped flicking to “Nothing playing” in the middle of a song.

    The logo, the theme, and honest Spotify limits

    • The mark was rebuilt from its reference render, and the favicon became the actual logo instead of a lookalike.
    • Purple/black theme, display typeface, action-based navigation and a mini player.
    • Likes and playlists are local-first: when Spotify refuses a write, notch.fm keeps it and shows it everywhere anyway rather than losing what you did.
    • Album and artist pages, artist search, scrubbing, and breadcrumbs so drilling in has a way back.
    • Spotify’s API limits are measured at runtime instead of guessed, so paging and search adapt to what the account can actually do.

    Landing page, onboarding and account management

    • A public landing page, a guided first run, and a Settings page that owns the account: connection, plan, export and deletion.
    • Real secrets bootstrapped, production guarded, and the Spotify redirect URI fixed.

    First build

    • Rating, tagging, library, queues, playlists, insights, history and community charts.
    • Natural-language search that translates a sentence into a filter your own database runs - the model never picks the songs.
    • Subscriptions, and a mobile layout that holds up on a phone.
